DEMOCRACY DAY AND 3RD ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: Delta To Hold Inter-Denominational Thanksgiving Service, May 29.

As part of the activities to mark the third anniversary of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration, Delta State Government would hold an inter-denominational praise and worship programme in Asaba.
Chairman of the organising committee for the anniversary celebration, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, in a statement, said that the programme which is billed to hold on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at the Event Centre, Asaba from 9.00am will feature eminent preachers, and renowned gospel singers.
According to him, “Deltans  have a lot of reasons to celebrate, it is celebration of peace, unity, positive development in terms of landmark infrastructure. This year's celebration is unique, we are celebrating three years of God's goodness on Deltans through the instrumentality of Governor Okowa's administration”
He enjoined Deltans and lovers of democracy to come and celebrate God's goodness to the state through praise and thanksgiving,
Artistes expected to perform at the event, according to him, include Chioma Jesus, Sammy Okpozo, Prosper Ochimana, David G, Samsong, Elijah Oyelade, and Onyekan Dunsin.
Prominent Deltans from all walks of life including Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his Deputy. Deacon Burutu Otuaro is expected to grace the Thanksgiving Event.

Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated a 12-member Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy (PACPM), tasked with recommending individuals eligible for presidential pardons from criminal convictions. The committee, chaired by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, was inaugurated on Wednesday. It has a four-year tenure and includes members drawn from various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), as well as representatives from religious bodies and four eminent Nigerians. GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI APPOINTS OSEJI AS DELTA HEAD OF SERVICE

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Minimim Oseji as the new Head of Service. Her appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Reginald Bayoko, who served in the position for nearly nine years. Dr. Oseji, a medical doctor, was previously the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and had also served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health. In 2020, she was elected as the 22nd National President of the Medical Women's Association of Nigeria (MWAN).
