REVEALATIONS ON HOW INEC PLANS TO RIG EKITI GUBER ELECTION

Mr. Lere Olayinka, the Media Aide to the Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has revealed two sinister plots by the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] to rig the forthcoming state governorship election.
Mr. Olayinka, making the disclosure, said that INEC planned to use Incident Forms in Ekiti during the election.
[Incident Forms are normally deployed where card readers failed and cannot be effectively utilised.]
He warned that Incident Form was not used during the past Anambra State governorship election, hence, will not be allowed in Ekiti.
He, therefore, tasked INEC to provide Card Readers for all Polling Units and to ensure that they must work.
Secondly, he raised alarm over INEC’s ploy to use students of Federal University of Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) instead of NYSC members.
“That too will not work here in Ekiti,” he stated.
According to him, the VC of FUOYE is working with the former governor of Ekiti State and Minister of Mines and Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi to use 200 Level Students of the University instead of NYSC members.
He warned that they are already aware of the plot.
“FUOYE VC cannot be a returning officer in Ekiti election and students of the University cannot also be used in place of NYSC members as INEC ad-hoc staff,” he stated matter-of-factly.
Recently, President Muhammadu Buhari congratulated Fayemi for winning the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to contest the July 14, 2018 governorship elections.
President Buhari believes that Fayemi’s track record in the state as a reformist, with a penchant for building educational infrastructure and promoting the welfare of the ordinary people, will bolster his chances at the forthcoming polls.
Reacting to the congratulatory message, Governor Fayose, on his Twitter handle, said that “President Buhari congratulating Fayemi on his emergence as APC candidate is like day-dreaming.”
He said that Fayemi “will surfer another major defeat on July 14.”
He added that “rather than congratulating him, the President should reserve his seat at the FEC because this desperation to be Ekiti gov is dead on arrival.” [See tweet]
Fayemi won the APC governorship elections ticket to contest the July 14 election while holding brief as the Minister of Mines and Solid Minerals.
