OBA OF BENIN, OSINBAJO, OSHIOMHOLE HOLD CLOSED-DOOR MEETING

Osinbajo, Oshiomhole, Oba of Benin, hold closed-door meeting
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Friday held a private meeting with the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II at his Palace in Benin, the Edo capital.

Also at the meeting, which lasted about 45 minutes were the Governor of Edo, Mr Godwin Obaseki, his Deputy Governor, Phillip Shaibu and former Governor of Edo, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

ournalists were however not briefed about what transpired at the meeting, and the Vice President left the palace to the Benin Airport for Abuja at about 2.00 pm.

Osinbajo arrived Benin on June 14 for a two-day working tour of Edo.

During the visit, the Vice President performed the ground breaking ceremony of 1800 Housing Units Emotan Garden Estate at Ikpoba Okha Local Government Council and commissioned the Solar Lighting Project at Edaiken Market in Benin.

Osinbajo also launched the South-South Innovation Hub and attended the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Clinic, where he had a chat with owners of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programme.

Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated a 12-member Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy (PACPM), tasked with recommending individuals eligible for presidential pardons from criminal convictions. The committee, chaired by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, was inaugurated on Wednesday. It has a four-year tenure and includes members drawn from various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), as well as representatives from religious bodies and four eminent Nigerians. GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI APPOINTS OSEJI AS DELTA HEAD OF SERVICE

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Minimim Oseji as the new Head of Service. Her appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Reginald Bayoko, who served in the position for nearly nine years. Dr. Oseji, a medical doctor, was previously the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and had also served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health. In 2020, she was elected as the 22nd National President of the Medical Women's Association of Nigeria (MWAN).
