The Asaba leg of the
ongoing African tour meet, which will be used to test-run the facilities and
equipment meant for the 21st African Senior Athletics Championships is going on
as scheduled.
LOC chairman, Solomon Ogba,
urged the public, athletes and other stake holders to disregard insinuations
that the meet has been moved to Saturday, July 21 or any other date.
He said the July 18 meet
has been strategically penciled down to effectively test run the world-class
facilities in place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.
According to him, the LOC is working towards
perfecting all that is needed before the August 1-5 African Championship with
the African tour meet.
