KWANKWASO TO DECLARE PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION ON WEDNESDAY

Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso (PDP, Kano) will officially declare his presidential ambition for the 2019 election on Wednesday.
Senator Kwankwaso who recently defected to the PDP would slug out this position with more than 8 other presidential candidates from the party.
His declaration was made known in a statement by the Kwankwaso Presidential Campaign Committee on Monday.
The statement, signed by a member of the committee Mr. Taiwo Adekanla,  stated that Kwankwaso would join the presidential race at a rally to be held at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
The statement noted that the Kano Central Senator seeks to “embark on massive infrastructural turn-around across the country.
“This includes the judicious management of the nation’s resources without necessarily mortgaging the future of the country on excessive foreign loans and its attendant burden.
“This will eliminate insecurity in all its forms across the country and return Nigeria to the path of prosperity,” it said.
It also listed some of the aspirant’s achievements during his tenure as a governor which include, “Free School Feeding Programme’’ and free uniform for primary schools, based on his ‘Kwankwasiyya’ ideology.
This would be the Senator’s second attempt to take the first position seat, after losing out the nomination of All Progressives Congress’s ticket to President Muhammadu Buhari in 2014.
