The National Assembly joint committee on electoral matters has adopted and approved the sum of N143 billion as INEC fund for 2019 election.
After rounds of defence and several meetings between the Independent National Electoral Commision, led by Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and the legislators, the sum of N143b was approved.
Senator Suleiman Nazif reports that at the Executive Session,
the Joint Committee sat and deliberated the position to adopt the N143b as
presented by Mr. President.

INEC is expected to re-present the N143bn as requested by Mr.
President, INEC has an opportunity to reprioritize and appear before the
Committee tomorrow by 1pm.

The meeting is adjourned till Tuesday, 28th August, 2018, Naija News reports.
Nigeria is set to hold another round of general elections in 2019 to elect a new set of public office holders.
