The forms and particulars of political parties’ candidates submitted for the 2019 general election has been published by the Independent National Electoral Commissions.
The list which was displayed outside INEC federal capital territory office and INEC state offices nationwide had not less than 76 presidential candidates as well as those for Senate and House of reps.
This was in line with Section 31 (3) of the Electoral Act 2010, as amended which states “The commission shall, within seven days of the receipt of the personal particulars of the candidates, publish same in the constituency where the candidate intends to contest the election.”
It will be recalled the final day for submission of names of presidential candidates and Senate/House of Reps was 18th October.
President Mohammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress APC and that of his Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo were included in the list.
People’s Democratic Party PDP‘s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Peter Obi were also included.
Others include Obadiah Mailafia, presidential candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Tanimowo Nasiru as the running mate.
With Donald Duke as a candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Junaid Mohammad as the running mate.
