Last year, former United States Ambassador to Nigeria, James F. Entwistle, visited former President Atiku Abubabar in his Adamawa country home.
Amb. Entwistle is now retired from the U.S. Foreign Service after putting up a spectacular 35years in service.
It's the prerogative of the U.S. to give or refuse Visa on administrative grounds to anybody no matter how highly placed.
Even a quick check on Wikipedia shows that the current Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was previously denied Visa by the U.S. authorities until recently when he became Prime Minister. See link- https://en.m.wikipedia.org/…/List_of_people_barred_or_exclu….
TWO POWERFUL LINKS THAT CLEAR CANDIDATE ATIKU ABUBAKAR FROM THE ALLEGED CORRUPTION TOGA BANDIED BY BUHARISTS AND BUHARIDEENS
1. The infamous William Jefferson $500,000 Bribery Scandal in the U.S., where the U.S. FBI Affidavit as reported on Washington Post in 2006, cleared Atiku.
On Aug. 3, FBI agents found $90,000 of the marked FBI bills in Jefferson's freezer at his Capitol Hill apartment. None of cash had gone to Abubakar, according to the FBI affidavit.
2. Following an inquiry by the Punch Newspapers, as published on November 20, 2016, the United States Department of Justice denied having any record that indicates that Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has a pending lawsuit in the US.
Atiku is not a SAINT and he doesn't claim to be one. But the corruption allegations levelled against him by his traducers, even 11years after leaving office as Nigeria's Vice President (without immunity), are yet to be proven beyond every reasonable doubt in the law courts.
Until Atiku is prosecuted in the courts, in Nigeria or any other place in the world (including the U.S.), and pronounced guilty by the courts, all corruption allegations against him remain null and void.
In what Atiku had tagged #TheAtikuChallenge, he has challenged those who have any EVIDENCE of corruption against him to come forward with them or RETREAT into their Burrows Permanently.
