President Muhammadu
Buhari has met with a former Director General of the Department of State
Services, Lawal Daura, The Nation is reporting.
The meeting will be the
first between Buhari and Daura after his sack by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo
(SAN), then the acting President, over the August 7, 2018 invasion of the
National Assembly by hooded operatives of the DSS.
He has since been in
detention. Buhari was out of the country on medical leave at the time of
Daura’s sack.
The meeting between the
duo, held last weekend at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, according to The
Nation, afforded the President the opportunity to speak with Daura on the
report of the invasion of the National Assembly by the DSS operatives.
The Nation also reported
that the issue of the resurgence of the Boko Haram insurgency in some parts of
the North East also came up for discussion.
