A man identified as Emmanuel S Agbogun has taken to social media to raise an alarm about an environmental problem and also criticize former governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole.
The aggrieved man blasted the ex-governor and present chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after the stormwater project which was reportedly constructed with N30 billion during his tenure, collapsed and has become a problem for residents of Benin city.
It is claimed that the project was constructed with substandard materials.
In 2012, Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State said the erosion and flood problems in Benin City will soon be a thing of the past with the completion of the stormwater project.
The former governor stated this during an inspection of work on the 13 ft deep channel being constructed on the New Lagos road to link the canal o the Five Junction to the canal on the Traditional Ground.
According to Oshiomhole, " I am satisfied with the on-going construction. It is a good work. We have to re-claim the moat to enable us to construct a canal here to serve as a receptacle for erosion coming from different points". While assuring the people of the state of government's resolve to tackle erosion problems in the state, he urged the construction firm to speed up the work.
