Jubilation as Delta PDP flags off 2019 Campaign for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and other PDP Candidates, Ibori Endorses Okowa at the Oghara Township Stadium. The mammoth crowd gave all for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

The people of Delta State trooped out in large numbers to witness the official flag off of the Governorship campaign of People’s Democratic Party – PDP- for the 2019 general elections. The outpouring of support was an eloquent confirmation that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is head and shoulders above the other candidates.

It was particularly instructive that such a massive crowd received the Governor and leaders of the PDP across the State. It was gratifying that the sterling achievements of Governor Okowa in office so far were being noticed and appreciated.
Today is a great day for democracy and good governance in Delta State. The crowd that came to the stadium for the rally eloquently reaffirms the invincibility status of Governor Okowa.

I mean, if such a large crowd could gather at the stadium to receive the Governor in the Oghara, it means the people have seen the light which Governor Okowa and Deputy Governor Otuaro represent for this State.
As s promised by the Governor, his re-election come 2019 would translate into more improved infrastructure, economy, and security, among others. A solid foundation to put the State on a sound pedestal had been firmly established in the last three and half years.

I want Deltans to know and appreciate that the re-election of Okowa/Otuaro ticket in 2019 can only translate to an improved economy, quality infrastructure among others.
In the last three and half years, Governor Okowa and Deputy Governor  Otuaro have laid a solid foundation to put the State on a sound footing for economic growth and development. They have initiated social inclusion policies and constructed critical infrastructure across the State thereby positively torching all the segments of the State.

The highpoint of the flag off was when Chief James Onanefe Ibori endorsed Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to complete the second term of Delta North senatorial district. He emphasized that there is an unwritten agreement among the three senatorial districts of the State and now is the turn of Delta north.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...

THE ENDURING LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP: Chief James Ibori Celebrated for His Impact on Delta State

On Friday, May 31st, during the funeral service for the Late Asagba of Asaba, the essence of true leadership was vividly displayed. The service featured the introduction of various dignitaries, including Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation who represented President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor Godwin Obaseki, and Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. As each dignitary was introduced, the church remained silent. However, the atmosphere dramatically changed when the name of Former Governor James Ibori was announced; the congregation erupted in wide jubilation and applause. This reaction was so profound that even Senator George Akume and Governor Obaseki could not hide their astonishment. The enthusiastic reception for Chief James Ibori during this solemn occasion highlighted his enduring legacy among the people of Delta State. Despite having left office seventeen years ago, he continues to be celebrated whenever he attends public functions i...
