JUST IN: Appeal Tribunal Affirms Governor Okowa’s Election Victory…Throws Out Ogboru’s Appeal

The Governorship Election Appeal Tribunal sitting in Benin City, on Friday upheld the election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party, declaring him as the authentic winner of the March, 9, 2019 governorship election.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Great Ogboru, had in an appeal petition, challenged the victory of Okowa at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal that sat in Asaba.

The Governorship Election Appeal Tribunal dismissed Ogboru’s petition for lack of merit and affirmed Okowa as the winner of the gubernatorial election.
