Nigeria has had 20 years to fulfil the vision
2020 agenda. The objectives of Vision 2020 include making Nigeria one of
the top 20 economies and a world leader in petroleum production by the year
2020. Nigeria currently ranks as the 27th largest economy of the world.
The 2020 vision statement includes plans to
"harness the talent and energies of young people to guarantee a high
standard of living".
Has Nigeria achieved its 2020 manufacturing
industry objective of a 15-30% contribution to the economy?
How about agriculture? Has it reduced its GDP
contribution to 3 - 15% as planned for 2020?
Vision 2020 had plans for Nigeria to achieve
double-digit economic growth rates.
Can Nigeria fulfil the objectives of Vision 2020
come December 2020?
