EDO APC NOMINATION: Ize-Iyamu Demands Refund of N22.5m

alt
Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Edo State, Pastor Ize-Iyamu, has requested for a refund of his N22.5 million used in purchasing the Governorship nomination form.
This followed the endorsement of the incumbent Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki by President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term on Monday in Abuja.
It is reported that the National Working Committee (NWC) of APC had scheduled for June 22, 2020.
One of the personal Aides to Ize-Iyamu said that his principal has concluded arrangement to convert proceed to obtain social Democratic Party (SDP) nomination to beat the deadline for submission.
On Monday, INEC requested for the list of Edo APC delegates in the primaries from the party, an indication that the Commission recognizes Mr. Aselm Ojezua of Edo APC.
Already, the fragile consensus agreement reached by four Governorship aspirants in Edo State All Progressive Congress (APC) faction loyal to Adams Oshiomhole has run into troubled water as a result of the conflicting interests of the aspirants, Mr. Solomon Edebiri, Mr. Charles Airhiavbere, former Minister of Works (State), Mr. Chris Ogiemwonyi and the immediate past Deputy Governor of the State, Mr. Pius Odubu.
The phantom agreement that was reached, Governorship aspirants got broken when Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu secretly collected nomination form on behalf of the former Chairman of Oredo Local Government Area, Mr. Osaro Obazee, believed to be one of his staunch supporters without the consent of three others.
The development prompted Odubu and Ogiemwonyi to obtain their nomination forms as a stop-gap ahead of the primary and Governorship elections.
Our Correspondents reports that the greatest undoing of Ize-Iyamu who defected from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in December 2019 is that his name is not on Edo APC delegates register.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...
