A
former commissioner for works in Delta State and also a commissioner on the board
of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Tom Amioku,
is dead.
Amioku, who hailed from Egborode in Okpe Local Government
Area of Delta State died on Saturday morning.
A post from the former Governor, Chief James Ibori on Facebook confirmed this
development.
It was gathered that Amioku, a top chieftain of the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP), died after a protracted illness that has
kept him out of politics for months.
He was a former commissioner in the state as well as a former
vice-chairman of PDP in Delta Central.
His death is coming barely a week after Hon. Joyce Overah,
another Okpe politician also passed on.
