OKOWA CONGRATULATES NKEM OKWUOFU AT 70


The Governor of Delta State, Senator  Ifeanyi Okowa has congratulated Chairman, Civil Service Commission, Dame Nkem Okwuofu, on her 70th birth anniversary.

He extolled the renowned nurse and astute politician for her signature - dedication and loyalty, which she had continued to exemplify in her commitment to the unity and growth of the state and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement by Mr Olisa Ifeajika, his Chief Press Secretary, in Asaba, the governor expressed happiness that at her age, Okwuofu had remained strong and profoundly supportive in the development of the state. 

He joined family, friends and associates in celebrating the remarkable life of service of AGWUNYANYI, the political Amazon.

He remarked that Okwuofu had remained a dependable patriot, administrator and an accomplished leader, whose invaluable service, particularly to Delta and its citizens would remain unforgettable.

Okowa said: ``It is with profound joy that on behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I bring very warm felicitations to you as you celebrate 70 wonderful years on earth.

“As a Septugenarian, you have lived a life of impact as an exemplary and accomplished nurse and later as commissioner in several ministries since your sojourn in politics, spanning decades.

"Your humility and commitment to service, which you demonstrated immensely in the several victories in all elections recorded by our party, the PDP, in the state, Delta North and your native Aniocha North Local Government Area, will continue to be appreciated.

‘’Your untiring efforts and commitment to the growth and development of your community Obomkpa has attracted infrastructure to your people, especially the road leading to the community. 

“On this special day of your life, I join your family to thank Almighty God for His guidance, protection and provision for you in the past 70 years of a life of outstanding accomplishments and fulfillment."

Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated a 12-member Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy (PACPM), tasked with recommending individuals eligible for presidential pardons from criminal convictions. The committee, chaired by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, was inaugurated on Wednesday. It has a four-year tenure and includes members drawn from various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), as well as representatives from religious bodies and four eminent Nigerians. GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI APPOINTS OSEJI AS DELTA HEAD OF SERVICE

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Minimim Oseji as the new Head of Service. Her appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Reginald Bayoko, who served in the position for nearly nine years. Dr. Oseji, a medical doctor, was previously the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and had also served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health. In 2020, she was elected as the 22nd National President of the Medical Women's Association of Nigeria (MWAN).
