POLITICAL HISTORY: Southern Politicians Always Used And Dumped By The North…Who is Next?

We must understand something, all Southern politicians are driven by an untold degree of selfishness. While in office, they are all aspiring to the next office.

The strategy to get on the ladder is to sacrifice their people, their towns and villages, and their region. They do everything possible to please the Hausa Fulani Northerners in order to be favoured. We can go back a little to pull out some examples.

"Those who fail to learn from history are bound to repeat their mistakes."Prior to the declaration of the Old Eastern Region by Col Chukwuemeka Ojukwu as the Sovereign State of Biafra in 1967, Obafemi Awolowo was serving prison terms at the Enugu Prison on the account of Treason. He was jailed by the Federal Government.

Ojukwu who was determined to ensure the total breakup of the entity called Nigeria quickly struck a deal with Awolowo who agreed to declare Oduduwa republic in the Western Region immediately after he was released from the prison by Ojukwu.

Sadly, it was the same Awolowo who went back to Lagos to work with Gen Yakubu Gowon. Awolowo did not only leak all Ojukwu's plans to Gowon but also advised the Gowon-led federal military government to use Famine as a weapon against the Biafrans.

After the war, Obafemi Awolowo made several attempts to become the President of Nigeria but later realized too late that he was only used and dumped by the North. He never became the President of Nigeria.

Chief MKO Abiola was a very good friend to Gen Ibrahim Babangida. History has it that the Business Mogul sponsored the Coup that brought Babangida to Power in 1985 on the understanding that the latter would make way for him to become the President.

Sadly, it was this same Babangida who annulled the June 12, 1993, Presidential election. Babangida frustrated Abiola and also ensured that he never became the President of Nigeria.

Peter Odili wanted to run for the presidency, he squandered River State money on Northern Emirs and Northern Opinion leaders. In the end, he failed.

Gen Obasanjo held up all development programs in the South and promoted infrastructure development in the North in order to get the 3rd term agenda through. In the end, he failed.

James Ibori wanted to be a Vice President to President Yardua in place of Jonathan. Delta State Liaison office Abuja became an ATM for all the Northern PDP members. In the end, not only did he fail, he was sent to prison.

Jonathan Goodluck postponed South-South development to his anticipated second tenure and put in all resources to the rehabilitation of the Almajiris, Emirs Palace from Sokoto to Maiduguri. Built Abuja- Kaduna Rail line when Lagos Ibadan Express Way was impassable, East-West Road was a mere historical concept; built and completed Federal Universities in Katsina, Jigawa, etc but did foundation groundbreaking for the Federal University in Bayelsa.  In the end, he was sent out of the Villa by the Northern INEC Chairman he appointed.

Under Jonathan, the then Minister for Aviation Stella Odua funded in full the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Kano, Sokoto, Katsina Airports but Port Harcourt Airport operated from a Tarpaulin, Enugu completely short down. In the end, AMCON took over all her assets and currently facing EFCC.

Our brother Ibe Kachukwu was the GMD of NNPC and Petroleum Minister at the same time. He promoted the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline. He rehabilitated the Petroleum institute in Kaduna when the Petroleum Institute in Warri was not captured in the budget. He was humiliated out of office.

Obono-Obla was appointed the Chairman of Government Asset Recovery Committee. His target was only all past officeholders from the South-South and South East. In the end, he was framed and arrested.

The immediate past MD of NDDC and Akwa Ibom State APC Governorship candidate, Nsima Ekere gave out emergency jobs (contracts) only to Southern Contractors fronting for Northerners. NDDC became an ATM for "the Villa Boys". Where is he now?

Rotimi Amechi is lobbying to be the next Vice President in 2023. His first action is to sell the South and became a saboteur. No wonder why as a Transport Minister he found it very necessary to build the Lagos-Ibadan- Abuja-Kaduna-Kano-Katsina Rail line, Calabar - Maiduguri Rail line,  Transport University in Katsina. The Great Eastern Railway line From Port Harcourt via Aba, Onitsha to Enugu to Okene in his books, is not feasible. Who are the MDs of the Nigerian Ports Authority and NIMASA?

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu helped Mohammadu Buhari to become the President after Buhari had made three previous unsuccessful attempts. Today, happenings in the ruling APC proves that Tinubu has been thrown under the bus. Buhari has become the fly-in Tinubu's scrotum.

The Northern Cabal in the ruling APC have blocked all chances of Tinubu to bear the party's flag in the 2023 Presidential election. The Jagaban has been completely decapitated, emasculated and rendered impotent by those, he laboured so much to enthrone.

The Northern Oligarchy has vowed to make things more difficult for Tinubu after Buhari read out the Riot act at the last Thursday's APC NEC Meeting where he undemocratically dissolved the party's NWC. Tinubu has been used and dumped by the North. He will never become the President of Nigeria.

The current Petroleum Minister Timipre Sylva has initiated the construction of the Ajaokuta-Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline to facilitate the building of a Gas Power Station in Abuja and Kaduna and "to turn Kano into an Industrial Head Quarters". The man is from Bayelsa State where there is over 90% unemployment and no electric light.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...

THE ENDURING LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP: Chief James Ibori Celebrated for His Impact on Delta State

On Friday, May 31st, during the funeral service for the Late Asagba of Asaba, the essence of true leadership was vividly displayed. The service featured the introduction of various dignitaries, including Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation who represented President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor Godwin Obaseki, and Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. As each dignitary was introduced, the church remained silent. However, the atmosphere dramatically changed when the name of Former Governor James Ibori was announced; the congregation erupted in wide jubilation and applause. This reaction was so profound that even Senator George Akume and Governor Obaseki could not hide their astonishment. The enthusiastic reception for Chief James Ibori during this solemn occasion highlighted his enduring legacy among the people of Delta State. Despite having left office seventeen years ago, he continues to be celebrated whenever he attends public functions i...
