OKOWA, HIS PUPPET GOVERNOR, SHERIFF MUST STOP EXTORTING DELTA PEOPLE - By Zik Gbemre

As said by a friend who didn't want his name mentioned, "Not only money to bribe judges. Before Governor Ifeanyi Okowa left office, he made DTSG sign MOU with the Federal Ministry of Sports for Delta State to be the only host of National/International Sports Festivals in Nigeria.

"Why? Because his junior brother, Tonoboks Okowa was the Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission. Between November 2022 till date Delta State has hosted 5 Sports Festivals in Asaba at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.

"Another one is now being planned for the last week of this month, also here at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba. The Sports Festivals are avenues to launder Delta State funds irresponsibly. Okowa's brother has just opened a brand new hotel/lounge on Okpanam where EVERY FACILITIES were imported."

Okowa is running his third tenure and to him it is a compulsory project. Another friend said Okowa instructed his party people that failed election in the state that they must go to tribunal and that he will use state money to upturn judgments in favour of his boys and that is what he is doing.

Okowa through his puppet Governor, Sherriff Oborevwori, is allegedly using Delta money to bribe judges doing election matters to sustain his third tenure in office. It is believed that all judges assigned to do Delta state elections matters are made in life.

It is a lucrative business for players in political and elections matters in Delta. All hail Okowa and Sheriff for allegedly using our money meant to build infrastructure to bribe judges in Delta.

Okowa is not the owner of Delta state and Delta state doesn't belong to him. Thugs demanding for revenues and extorting money have invaded Warri South, Uvwie and Udu LGAs. They go to barbing saloons and restaurants to harass owners on a daily basis especially on the Airport Road in Warri/Effurun and by Shoprite and Udu Road.

Okowa and Sheriff must end this rascality of extorting Delta populace. Sport festivals are another avenue to milk Delta dry through his brother Tonoboks Ojulu Okowa as former Chairman of Sports Commission.

Of what relevance is hosting sports Festivals in Delta state that is being used to milk Delta's treasury dry?

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...
