WEEKEND PERISCOPE: Charting a New Course for Delta State's Future

During the Delta State Election Petition Tribunal hearing, the APC and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege presented a compelling argument that is vital to removing the grip of a party that is holding power without delivering development.

Because of Governor Okowa-Oborevwori's unwavering will to stay in office, the administration has been luring judges with risky tactics, which gave them Pyrrhic victory at the tribunal. It is, however, reassuring that Ovie Omo-Agege swiftly directed his legal team to appeal, anticipating the setback.

There is no doubt that Deltans are tired of witnessing the stagnation and decay in our beloved State, and they fervently hoped for a verdict of change and revival of our State's progress and development.

Ovie Omo-Agege and the APC presented a compelling case. This is known to every sincere Deltan who does not benefit from the decay and underdevelopment of our dear State under the People's Democratic Party.

Governor Okowa-Oborevwori's determination to hold on to power at all costs has led to the government taking reckless measures to lure judges. This has jeopardized our state's future for generations to come.

Although justice has been delayed, Deltans should adjust their expectations, considering the current political situation.

Despite our concerns, we remain hopeful that the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court will impartially uphold Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege's appeal.

Our confidence is based on the amount of concrete evidence provided by Ovie Omo-Agege's legal team at the tribunal. Delta's electorate voted overwhelmingly for change and development. Our collective heart yearns for that change and development and we await that day when that yearning stops.

While justice may be delayed by a tribunal with much to be desired, Delta's freedom is certain and will be all the more rewarding when it arrives.

While the party in power continues to mock, the APC, Senator Omo-Agege, and those who fought for our rightful victory will be the ones to have the last laugh. As Delta State moves onward, we look forward to a better and more prosperous future.

No doubt Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege is waiting in the wings to chart a new course for Delta State's future
