OMO-AGEGE SEEKS DELTANS' SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU: If He Succeeds, We Have All Succeeded

The immediate past Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Obarisi, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, CFR, has appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting the administration of President Bola Tinubu, stating that if Tinubu succeeds, all Nigerians have succeeded.

The lawmaker, who represented the Delta Central Senatorial District in the Ninth Assembly, made the appeal on Saturday at a homecoming reception organized in his honor in Ughelli, Delta State.

Omo-Agege, who was also the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the 2023 governorship election in Delta, praised President Tinubu's performance, emphasizing that Tinubu is a president for everybody and has not disappointed them. He highlighted Tinubu's successful track record as former governor of Lagos State and expressed confidence in his ability to replicate it nationwide.

He urged Nigerians to be patient and continue praying for the President, noting the recent fluctuations in the Dollar's value but expressing optimism for the future under Tinubu's leadership.

Omo-Agege recalled the sacrifice of five APC members who lost their lives during the last day of the APC governorship campaign in the creeks of Gbaramatu kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of the state, expressing gratitude for their dedication and support.

Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, praised Omo-Agege's campaign efforts and acknowledged the support of Delta citizens. Mr. Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of APC, commended Omo-Agege's service and his impact on the lives of Delta's people.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of gifts to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...
