FACTIONAL DELTA APC's DESPERATE SMEAR CAMPAIGN AGAINST GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI

The recent outburst from a faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, led by Chief Evance Ochuko Ivwurie, is nothing more than a concoction of lies, misinformation, and media propaganda. This desperate attempt to undermine the cordial working relationship between the state government and the president is aimed at intimidating both the president and the governor. Their claims are riddled with baseless accusations and panic-driven narratives designed to mislead the public and divert attention from the real issues affecting Nigerians.

At the core of these allegations is the unfounded claim of an “unholy alliance” between Governor Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Nothing could be further from the truth. These falsehoods are a calculated effort by a factionalized and disoriented Delta APC to distract from Governor Oborevwori’s people-focused governance and progressive agenda.

Governor Oborevwori’s Commitment to National Unity and Stability

Let it be stated unequivocally: Governor Oborevwori remains unwavering in his commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria. His administration actively engages with the Federal Government in the interest of democracy, economic stability, and the welfare of Deltans. Any suggestion that his alignment with the PDP Governors’ Forum constitutes an “unholy alliance” is both mischievous and misleading. His interactions with key stakeholders at the national level are aimed at ensuring stability in the Niger Delta and fostering economic growth—not engaging in partisan scheming.

Contrary to Ivwurie’s baseless assertions, Governor Oborevwori has consistently prioritized Delta’s development and economic sustainability. Delta State remains an investment-friendly hub, with regular collaboration between state and federal authorities to safeguard critical national assets and promote economic growth. The suggestion that his leadership threatens the state’s economy is not only laughable but also exposes the ignorance of those peddling such claims.

Debunking the Defection Rumors: APC’s Political Blackmail

The claim that Governor Oborevwori is planning to defect to the APC is the height of political desperation. This wild assertion is nothing but cheap blackmail from a faction of the Delta APC that has failed to resolve its own internal crises. However, if the governor decides to join their party, they should welcome him with open arms, as he brings significant political capital that could strengthen their ranks and enhance their influence. After all, in politics, numbers matter, and a growing coalition is always an advantage. Having lost credibility among the people, they now resort to spreading infantile rumors to distract from their irrelevance. Governor Oborevwori will not be deterred by the antics of a party faction allergic to unity and inclusivity.

Delta State’s Unwavering Development Under Governor Oborevwori

Unlike the APC’s factionalized leadership, Governor Oborevwori’s administration has remained focused on delivering tangible results for the people of Delta State. His leadership has driven significant progress across key sectors:

  • Security in Delta’s Waterways: Through strategic collaboration with federal security agencies, Delta State has strengthened its maritime security, ensuring safer waterways and protecting lives and property.

  • Unprecedented Infrastructure Development: The administration has embarked on massive infrastructure projects at an unprecedented scale, benefiting both riverine and urban areas, ensuring connectivity and fostering economic growth.

  • Economic Growth and Job Creation: Delta State’s economy continues to expand, with a strong focus on job creation, investment attraction, and poverty reduction. The administration remains committed to fostering an environment conducive to business and economic prosperity.

Fiscal Prudence and Transparent Financial Management

The accusation that Governor Oborevwori is engaging in a “wasteful legal battle” is baseless. There is no legal battle between his administration and the Federal Government. Rather, his government has demonstrated commendable fiscal discipline, ensuring the prudent management of state resources:

  • Financial Stability Without Excessive Borrowing: Delta State continues to meet its financial obligations without plunging into unnecessary debt.

  • Funding of Infrastructure Projects and Debt Repayment: Major infrastructural developments are being executed while outstanding debts from past administrations are systematically repaid.

  • Transparent Allocation of Public Funds: Every kobo spent by the administration is accounted for, ensuring that resources directly benefit the people of Delta State.

Rejecting APC’s Falsehoods: Governor Oborevwori Remains Focused on Progress

Deltans and the general public must disregard the APC’s latest attempt at political theater. These fabrications are nothing more than the symptoms of a party terrified by its inevitable decline in Delta State. Rather than focusing on constructive criticism, the Delta APC has chosen to engage in propaganda, character assassination, and baseless accusations. If they had a credible alternative for leadership, they would be presenting policies and solutions—not resorting to desperate falsehoods.

Governor Oborevwori’s administration remains resolute in delivering results. No amount of political gimmickry will erase the fact that his government is building infrastructure, ensuring security, creating jobs, and improving the lives of Deltans.

Deltans stand with Governor Oborevwori. Lies and distractions will not derail progress!
