APC UGHELLI NORTH CHARTS A NEW COURSE: Unites Behind Tinubu and Oborevwori

In a significant political development that may reshape grassroots dynamics in Delta State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area has united under a common vision, passing a resounding vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

This landmark decision emerged from a high-level APC Unity Meeting held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Evwreni residence of Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, the party’s founding leader in the state.

The atmosphere at the meeting was one of reconciliation, resolve, and renewed purpose. According to the communiqué released afterward, party leaders and stakeholders unanimously agreed to align fully with the visions of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda. Both leaders were praised for their developmental strides and transformative leadership at the national and state levels.

But beyond political endorsements, something more profound occurred: the long-standing internal rift between "old" and "new" members of the APC in Ughelli North was formally laid to rest. Leaders declared that all members will henceforth be treated as equal stakeholders with full access to party privileges and opportunities.

The meeting also reaffirmed loyalty to key figures steering the APC at both state and local levels. These include Elder Omeni Sobotie (State Chairman), Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, Rt. Hon. Festus Agas, and Olorogun Surv. Terry Noah. Together, they form the united leadership structure now guiding the party in Ughelli North.

Another highlight of the event was the collective endorsement of Chief Jaro Egbo, KSC, the current Chairman of the Ughelli North Local Government Council. Party leaders pledged to work closely with him to accelerate development in the area and strengthen APC’s grassroots support.

The motion for the vote of confidence in Tinubu and Oborevwori was moved by Prof. Sam Ibodje and seconded by Hon. Samuel Mariere. It was unanimously adopted by all present, a clear reflection of the gathering's cohesion and shared purpose.

The communiqué was signed by an impressive roster of leaders, including Elder Omeni Sobotie, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, Rt. Hon. Festus Agas, Hon. Stella Okotete, Chief Fred Majemite, and many others, underscoring the depth of support behind this new direction.

This moment marks more than just a political endorsement. It signals a new era of unity, inclusion, and strategic focus within APC Ughelli North. If sustained, it could have ripple effects on political stability and developmental outcomes not just in Ughelli North, but across Delta State.
