GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI SALUTES DELTANS AT 34, SAYS THE BEST IS YET TO COME

My dear good people of Delta State! On this day, as we mark the 34th anniversary of the creation of our beloved state, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to every Deltan at home and in the diaspora. Today is not just about remembering the past, it is about celebrating how far we have come together as one people bound by unity, love, diversity, and a shared dream of progress.

Over the past three decades, we have walked a journey of resilience. We have faced challenges, yet we have always risen above them with courage and determination. Our unity as a people has been our strength, and the sacrifices of our past leaders, traditional rulers, community leaders, and ordinary citizens have kept us together as one Delta family.

As your Governor, I am deeply inspired by this spirit of unity and progress. This is why our administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda—Meaningful development, Opportunities for all, Realistic reforms, and Enhanced peace and security is not just a policy framework; it is a promise to build on the foundations laid before us and to open up new frontiers of growth for every Deltan.

I want you to know that better days are ahead. We are committed to delivering quality infrastructure, supporting businesses, empowering women and youths, and strengthening the institutions that guarantee sustainable development. No part of Delta will be left behind.

But government alone cannot achieve this. The success of our state depends on the collective efforts of all of us. I therefore urge you to continue to support government policies, remain peaceful, and keep faith in the brighter future we are building together.

As we celebrate this 34th anniversary, let us also remember to pray for our dear state and for one another. Together, with unity and hope, we are entering a new era of greater possibilities for Delta.

Happy anniversary, my beloved Delta State. May God bless us all.

Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori

Governor of Delta State
