EFCC AS THE ATTACK DOG OF APC...Carrying Out Hatchet Job Against Governor Ortom

Image may contain: one or more people
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC is once again demonstrating that it is an attack-dog of the Nigerian ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC and is once more on a mission of carrying out a hatchet job against Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.

It is obvious that the hawks around President Muhammadu Buhari are afraid of Governor Ortom’s decamping to the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, hence the usual panicky measure of The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission linking Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State to an alleged fraud to the tune of N22bn, with the view to embarking on another round of media trial against the governor and his government.

It is so funny and laughable that these characters in the APC government can’t even disappoint for once by being unpredictable. The game plan of those who want power in Benue State by force as well as those who do not want anyone to speak against President Buhari, that they see as a god, is to stifle Benue State government and make it impossible for the government to carry out its responsibilities using the EFCC.

However, the EFCC and its collaborators should know that Nigerians have trodden this path before and won’t be intimidated by the anti-corruption agency that has come to see itself as an instrument of harassing, oppressing, intimidating and coercing perceived opposition figures in the country.

The President must start the corruption fight from his party and immediate aides since charity begins from home.

The pertinent question is: At what point did EFCC become the office Auditors General? EFCC opinions remain their opinions and if they are so sure of whatever information they have, they should go to court and stop subjecting Nigerians to a media trial. No amount of media trial can convince Nigerians of their sincerity.

Having failed to buy the conscience of the majority of Benue House of Assembly members, the APC people have become increasingly afraid of 2019 and the agencies of the Federal Government have now taken the job of persecuting Governor Ortom. Nigerian electorates will not be deceived by their blackmail and media trial.

Should Nigerians now conclude that EFCC is an appendage of APC? Is the EFCC for investigation of corrupt practices among all Nigerians or members of opposition parties alone?

No amount of media trial by agents of the Buhari-led APC government will make Nigerians stop baring their mind on the cluelessness of the Federal government.
