FRED LATIMORE OGHENESIVWE: A CASE OF PARANOID PERSONALITY DISORDER

At every point people read Mr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe’s comments on what seemed to him are very important contributions to social media.  Mister Latimore, may I give you a little advice? Okay, I am not going to wait for your permission to do so and will do so, anyway.  Here is the advice: do not write about people with derogatory terms if you do not know what those terms mean.   My guess is that somehow it got into your head that if you call people by certain derogatory names that what you said is true and would stick; you mean to put them down by giving them derogatory labels;  politics is meant to heal not to degrade (you have a need to degrade folks; why do you have that need?). I understand that you came from a jungle where civility is not practiced and you believe that all you have to do is come to the public square and engage in name calling and that that is good enough. You need to realize that Nigerian Internet forums consist of...

“I WANTED TO HIDE FOR 12 MONTHS” – GEJ

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan, says he had planned to shun public appearances for the next 1 year, but for the death of Chief Dideolu Awolowo, he had to come out. Earlier on Wednesday, Jonathan and wife, Patience, visited the family of late HID Awolowo, at Ikenne, Ogun state, to pay their condolences. During the visit, Jonathan said himself and Patience had been in hiding since leaving office. He said: “My wife and I are not mourning because mama has passed on.  For me, we believe that it’s a rare privilege to add extra 29 years to the biblical three scores and ten; it’s not easy. “Ordinarily, we wouldn’t have been mourning but mama was a rare mother. She was a woman of virtue described in the Bible and she was a mother to all of us; a mother whose milk of kindness we still need, her milk of encouragement we still need, her milk of advice we still need and today she’s no more with us. “We, just like the immediate children, and indeed this country, have ...

SARAKI’S TRAVAIL: BUHARI’S CONNECTION AND TINUBU’S INPUT

THESE are not the best of times for Bukola Saraki, Senate President and chairman of the so-called 8th National Assembly that has done virtually nothing about its law-making responsibilities, but has continued to rip Nigerians off collecting huge allowances for practically sitting on its palm and watching the sun go down each day since it was inaugurated last June. Mr. Saraki’s National Assembly has spent more time on recess than in the chambers of the Assembly, no thanks to the leadership struggle that has bedeviled the place since the intrigue that brought Saraki and Yakubu Dogara, his counterpart in the House of Representatives, into office. As if that was not enough, Saraki has now been dragged before the Code of Conduct Tribunal for failure to fully declare his assets as required of elected officers. For failing to appear before the CCT on the day slated for hearing the case against him, chairman of the CCT, Justice Danladi Umar, has ordered the arrest of Saraki vi...
