SILENT RESOLVE, LOUD RESULTS: Governor Oborevwori’s Blueprint For Delta State

In the ever-evolving and dynamic landscape of Delta State politics, opposition figures, pundits, and analysts find themselves perpetually engaged in a game of anticipation, striving to decipher Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s next strategic maneuver. This ceaseless speculation fuels a whirlwind of theories, hypotheses, and assumptions about his political playbook and long-term trajectory. Yet, beneath this flurry of conjecture lies a fundamental truth that consistently eludes his critics: Governor Oborevwori is a man of few words but relentless action, preferring to let his tangible achievements articulate his vision. His deliberate and calculated reticence has become a hallmark of his leadership, leaving adversaries and observers alike caught in an unending cycle of guesswork and second-guessing. While his political opponents expend their energy weaving intricate narratives and dissecting his every move, Governor Oborevwori remains steadfast, his focus unyieldingly fixed on fulfilling t...

FACTIONAL DELTA APC's DESPERATE SMEAR CAMPAIGN AGAINST GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI

The recent outburst from a faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, led by Chief Evance Ochuko Ivwurie, is nothing more than a concoction of lies, misinformation, and media propaganda. This desperate attempt to undermine the cordial working relationship between the state government and the president is aimed at intimidating both the president and the governor. Their claims are riddled with baseless accusations and panic-driven narratives designed to mislead the public and divert attention from the real issues affecting Nigerians. At the core of these allegations is the unfounded claim of an “unholy alliance” between Governor Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Nothing could be further from the truth. These falsehoods are a calculated effort by a factionalized and disoriented Delta APC to distract from Governor Oborevwori’s people-focused governance and progressive agenda. Governor Oborevwori’s Commitment to National Unity and Stability Let it be stated ...

Zoning Sustains PDP’s Dominance in Delta – Onyeme …As Speaker Guwor, Oscar Ibru, Others Attend Inauguration of Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency Forum

UGHELLI – Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, has emphasized that the zoning of political offices, particularly the governorship, has been instrumental in sustaining political stability and reinforcing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s dominance in the state. Speaking at the inauguration of the Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency Forum at Oharisi Primary School, Ughelli, Onyeme stated that as the 2027 elections approach, zoning remains a vital mechanism for equitable power distribution across Delta’s diverse ethnic groups. "Delta has enjoyed peace because we embraced governorship rotation early, and it has worked well for us since 1999. Every governor has completed two terms, and this time will not be different. Governor Oborevwori is delivering massive infrastructure projects with Julius Berger and other reputable firms, and Deltans can see the results," Onyeme asserted. PDP Reaffirms Support for Governor Oborevwori The Speaker of the Delt...

DELTA PDP "MASS DEFECTION" CLAIMS: Another Desperate APC Propaganda Stunt

Once again, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has resorted to its well-worn tactic of misinformation, attempting to fabricate a crisis where none exists. The latest claim of a so-called "mass defection" of 5,000 PDP members to the APC is nothing more than a desperate and laughable ploy aimed at misleading the public and creating a false perception of political momentum for a party that has persistently failed to gain traction in Delta State. The Truth Behind the False Defection Claims The names being paraded as recent defectors—Senator Ned Nwoko, Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, Nicholas Ossai, Chief Great Ogboru, Chika Ossai, and Dr. Chris Okobah—have not been members of the PDP since 2023. These individuals realigned with the Delta Unity Group (DUG) and actively worked against the PDP in both the presidential and governorship elections. Their exit from the party is old news, neither surprising nor significant. Rather than a mass defection, this is a failed attempt by...

IJAW NATIONAL CONGRESS CONDEMNS TINUBU'S STATE OF EMERGENCY IN RIVERS STATE

The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has strongly condemned President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a State of Emergency in Rivers State, describing it as “hasty, lopsided, and partisan.” The INC alleges that the move is designed to favor the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and his allies. Speaking to journalists in Yenagoa on the state of the Ijaw Nation, INC President Prof. Benjamin Ogele Okaba criticized President Tinubu for disregarding wise counsel and implementing what he described as a premeditated plan. According to Prof. Okaba, the declaration of emergency rule was triggered by the Ijaw people’s refusal to be provoked into violence during last weekend’s staged thanksgiving/hosting of Wike in Abalama . He alleged that the Abalama event was orchestrated to incite violence and create justification for emergency rule. However, he commended Ijaw youths for heeding the wise counsel of their elders and refusing to be drawn into conflict. Prof. Okaba furthe...

Hon. (Barr.) Spencer Ohwofa, member representing Ughelli North Constituency 2 in the Delta State House of Assembly, has lauded the collaborative efforts of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, security agencies, and legislative stakeholders in addressing the protracted herdsmen attacks plaguing Uwheru Kingdom, his home constituency.   Speaking during a personal explanation at plenary, the APC lawmaker conveyed the gratitude of his constituents to Governor Oborevwori, security agencies—notably the Nigerian Army and Police Force—as well as the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, and fellow lawmakers for their sustained intervention in resolving the crisis.   Ohwofa recounted the years of devastation suffered by Uwheru communities due to herdsmen violence, emphasizing that the government’s recent coordinated response had driven the assailants from farmlands, enabling displaced farmers to resume agricultural activities. He described thi...

BREAKING: Tinubu declares state of emergency in Rivers State

President  Bola Ahmed Tinubu  has officially declared a state of emergency in Rivers State. This is in reaction to the political crisis that have engulfed Rivers State. Reports have it that the President made the declaration in a nationwide broadcast on Tuesday. “ The state has been at a standstill since the crisis started ,” Tinubu said. The president stated that he made personal intervention to resolve the crisis in the state but his efforts have been ignored. A retired military chief, Ekwe Ibas, has been selected to oversee the state’s affairs once the emergency is declared. The move comes amid escalating violence between former Governor Nyesom Wike and the current Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, as the two continue their protracted political feud. Wike, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has reportedly been attempting to unseat Fubara, intensifying the political tensions in the state. Following the unrest, major petrol pipelines in the stat...

EXPOSING DELTA APC’S LIES, SHOWCASING OBOREVWORI’S IMPACT

Once again, the APC has resorted to cheap propaganda, desperate to distort the facts and mislead Deltans. The truth, however, remains clear: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration is focused on delivering real development, ensuring fiscal discipline, and improving the lives of our people. While the APC indulges in diversionary tactics, this administration remains resolutely focused on delivering equitable development, fostering economic resilience, and uplifting every Deltan. Below is an evidence-driven dissection of the APC’s misinformation, paired with a transparent account of the state’s transformative progress. 1. Infrastructure Renaissance: Bridging Divides, Igniting Prosperity The APC’s assertion that there is “nothing tangible to show” is not only false but an insult to the collective intelligence of Deltans. Governor Oborevwori’s administration is spearheading one of the most expansive infrastructure overhauls in Delta’s history, prioritizing marginalized riverine communi...

NIGERIA'S RELIGIOUS PARADOX: Faith Without Morality

Nigeria is often described as one of the most religious countries in the world. From the bustling cities to the quiet villages, churches and mosques dot the landscape, while religious slogans adorn buses, shops, and even business logos. Yet, beneath this outward display of faith lies a paradox: a nation deeply devoted to religion but seemingly disconnected from spirituality and moral values. This contradiction raises critical questions about the true impact of religion in Nigeria, especially in governance, corruption, and the erosion of societal values. Religious Devotion vs. Spirituality Nigeria’s religious landscape is dominated by Christianity and Islam, with a significant number of adherents to traditional African religions. On the surface, this religious fervour appears to provide moral guidance and a sense of unity. However, the reality is far more complex. While Nigerians are quick to identify as religious, their faith often does not translate into ethical behaviour. Religious i...

OPPOSITION vs OBOREVWORI: The Futility of Propaganda

Despite Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s remarkable strides in socioeconomic development, opposition elements have resorted to misleading claims, alleging that the Delta State Government and local government councils have failed to deliver tangible progress despite receiving over N1 trillion from FAAC and IGR . Instead, they argue that the administration prioritizes debt repayment, caters to political godfathers, and oils party structures at the expense of development. However, these claims are not only baseless but also a deliberate distortion of reality. The Oborevwori administration remains committed to prudent financial management , ensuring that every naira received is strategically allocated toward infrastructure, social welfare, and economic growth. Debt repayment is not a diversion of funds but a responsible fiscal measure to maintain Delta State’s financial stability while funding critical projects. The undeniable progress across key sectors— road construction, healthcare, edu...

TANTITA SECURITY: Tompolo’s Pivotal Role in Curbing Oil Theft, Boosting Revenue, and Transforming the Niger Delta

Nigeria’s oil sector, the lifeblood of its economy, has long been crippled by rampant crude oil theft, pipeline sabotage, and illegal bunkering, costing the nation an estimated $3 billion annually as of 2023. In a bold move to address this crisis, the Nigerian government awarded a landmark pipeline surveillance contract to Tantita Security Services Limited (TSSL), led by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), a former militant leader turned strategic partner. Since its inception in 2022, Tantita has become a linchpin in securing critical oil infrastructure, revitalizing national revenue, and fostering socio-economic progress in the Niger Delta.   Reviving Nigeria’s Oil Production: From Crisis to Recovery Prior to Tantita’s involvement, Nigeria faced an existential threat in its oil sector, with daily crude losses exceeding 400,000 barrels—nearly 20% of its OPEC quota. This hemorrhage slashed national earnings, eroded foreign reserves, and pushed the country into costly fu...

EVEN THE DEAF SEE, THE BLIND HEAR: Oborevwori’s Transformative Impact in Delta!

In under two years, his leadership has focused on infrastructure expansion, social investment, healthcare improvements, and prudent fiscal management, all of which are reshaping the state's future. His achievements are not mere propaganda but tangible developments that Deltans can see and experience daily. ZIK GBEMRE AND HIS BITTER POLITICS OF NEGATIVITY: Setting the Record Straight on Delta’s Progress Under Oborevwori’s Leadership

It is both perplexing and unfortunate that Zik Gbemre, a self-proclaimed critic, has once again taken aim at Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his administration, resorting to his usual pastime—casting unfounded aspersions. But what else can one expect from someone whose history is defined by relentless pessimism, often fueled by an unwillingness to acknowledge progress that does not suit his narrow, personal agenda? Gbemre’s latest attack on the New Telegraph Award bestowed on Governor Oborevwori is not an honest critique but a thinly veiled expression of bitterness. Instead of offering a reasoned counterpoint, he clings to his typical doom-and-gloom narrative—not for constructive dialogue, but to tarnish the reputation of the governor and the institutions that recognize his achievements. AWARDS AND PERFORMANCE: A False Dichotomy The absurd claim that Governor Oborevwori “purchased” awards from media houses is not only baseless but deeply disrespectful to reputable institutions like...
