SIGHTING OF THE MOON: FG ADDS THURSDAY TO PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

This is a very uncommon mistake which didn't happen even in those days that we didn't have efficient astrologers, binoculars, Internet and other information technology apparatus.

Nearly all countries, including many African countries like Togo, Benin, Senegal, Ivory Coast Ghana etc declared tomorrow, not today as public holiday. Only Sierra Leone joined in making same mistake.  Saudi Arabian astrologers have for long predicted 6th of July as the feast day for the end of Ramadan.

I think those officials of the ministry of Internal Affairs responsible for declaring Tuesday as public holiday deserve to be sanctioned for misleading the entire country. The cost of additional one-day holiday is a lot to the country.

The truth is that the moon that Nigerian Muslims were supposed to see was looted by the PDP and hidden at the backyard of our house in the village. We quickly notified EFCC in Abuja and it took them a day to retrieve it for the Muslims to sight. The delay was because EFCC had to come all the way from Abuja.
We would have notified the police on time but we were afraid they can steal the moon and the Nigerian Muslims will not see something to sight anymore. It would have been suicidal having our Muslim brothers fast forever while waiting for the moon that had been stolen and sold by the police.
On the basis of the foregoing, one extra day of fasting and avoidable holiday is still reasonable.
This anomaly is a further testament that under APC government Nigeria is in real shit.
