PRESIDENT BUHARI IS NOT AGAINST CORRUPTION - By Femi Aribisala

It is one thing to talk against corruption. It is another thing altogether to be against corruption. President Buhari only talks against corruption. Muhammadu Buhari ran for election as president of Nigeria in 2003, 2007 and 2011. He failed woefully on all three occasions. He failed because he did not have the attributes that Nigerians wanted in a president. Many, including this writer, felt he was too sectional. His stint as military head-of-state between 1984 and 1985 was an eloquent testimony of this. Among other misdeeds, Buhari preferred a Fulani from Niger to an Igbo from Nigeria as Secretary-General of the OAU. He locked in jail, Vice-President Alex Ekwueme, an Igbo; but only put under house arrest, President Shehu Shagari, a Fulani. He told Lam Adesina of Oyo State that the Fulani herdsmen of the North are his people, as opposed to the Yoruba farmers of the South. He proclaimed a determination to install sharia law all over the federation. As a result, in 2011, ou...

SENATOR SANI PREDICTS DOOM FOR APC, Wants Akpabio Back In PDP

Senator Shehu Sani has predicted doom for his former political party,  All Progressives Congress, APC and urged a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio, who recently joined the party to return to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Sani left the APC two weeks ago after failing to get the party’s Senate ticket for Kaduna Central Senatorial District. He had been promised the ticket by the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, but the stiff resistance by Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State ensured that the offer was not actualised. His prediction of doom came a day after another APC senator and former governor of Yobe State predicted that the party could lose the election in its Northeast stronghold. Predicting doom for his former party in a tweet laced with parables yesterday evening, Senator Sani said: “Oh ye Godswill, leave Nineveh through the Tigris River before dawn and returneth to thy city Damascus.” He spoke of Nineve...

GOV DANKWAMBO ATTACKS BUHARI, Gives Reasons

The Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo, on Tuesday described President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership style as “weak and de-energized.” Dankwambo, a former presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, insisted that Buhari was beneath Nigeria. In a series of tweets, Dankwambo said, “The hallmark of good leadership is in concrete action on behalf of the people and not in a body language that says nothing other than confounding the masses. “Enough is enough! Enough of weakness arrogantly dressed up as introspection! “Enough of cluelessness sold as thoughtfulness! Enough of mediocrity paraded as integrity. “The current leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is weak, de-energized, incompetent and far beneath Nigeria. “It is time to move forward and in the right direction! “The end must be put to the phenomenon of showmanship as statesmanship, deception of the masses as fight against corruption and incompetence compounded with ignorance as ...

OMO-AGEGE, OGBORU DRAW BATTLE LINE IN DELTA – By Felix Igbekoyi

Things have fallen apart between Ovie Omo Agege, the incumbent Senator representing Delta Central and Chief Great Ogboru, Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State. As it is today, the Senatorial District where they both hail from and the state APC is in a mess politically. Stakeholders in the senatorial district who looked into the causes of the remote and immediate problem of the once two reliable friends who had always presented a common front in all party issues since they got the endorsement of APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and traced them to politics, self-centeredness, and greed. One of the immediate causes is the emergence of Ogboru’s running mate, Ossai Abeh, as regards competence and capacity to add value to the leadership qualities of Chief Great Ogboru. According to a source close to Ovie Omo Agege, who does not want his name in print, he said the ticket of Ogboru/Ossai cannot win an election for APC in the state....
