SAHARA REPORTERS CAMPAIGN OF CALUMNY AGAINST STELLA OKOTETE: A Co-ordinated Pull Her Down Script

The series of blatant lies, gross innuendos, and falsehoods about Hon. Stella Okotete reported by Sahara Reporters in close succession has become the subject of public discussion. It could have been better not to join in responding to Sahara Reporters. However, a false narrative needs to be corrected to prevent narrators from misleading unsuspecting members of the public. There is no doubt that fifth columnists are using Sahara reporters as a platform to drag Stella Okotete's hard-earned reputation to odium. The petition was by Barrister Aare Oladotun Hassan Esq of Juryman Associate Chambers against Stella Erhuvwuoghene Okotete to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, over her appointment as Executive Director in charge of Business Development at NEXIM Bank. One of the false claims of the frivolous petition is that she did not attend Benson Idahosa University and as such did not participate in the National Youth Service. The petition was through a letter no...

PRESIDENT TINUBU RELEASES LIST OF MINISTERIAL NOMINEES, Fagbemi, Omo-Agege’s Lead-Counsel, Stella Okotete, Others Make List.

President Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded twenty-eight ministerial nominees to the National Assembly. This is in line with the constitutional provision that the ministerial list must reach the National Assembly within 60 days after the President is inaugurated. The list is undoubtedly a blend of technocrats and politicians and believed to reflect the national character. It is understood that Tinubu sent the list to Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Thursday morning. The immediate former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, his Rivers State counterpart Nyesom Wike and legal luminary Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) who leads Ovie Omo-Agege legal team at the tribunal are some of the names on the list of ministerial nominees forwarded to the Senate by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Also included are Stella Okotete, eminent medical scholar, Ali Pate, economist Olawale Edun, banker Adebayo Adelabu, former Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. In addition, All Progressives Congress (...

DELTA GUBER: Omo-Agege’s Petition Still Alive, PDP Jittery – APC

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State has said Ovie Omo-Agege s petition against the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, is still very much alive. Omo-Agege was the governorship candidate of the APC during the last election in Delta State. The party was reacting to the wild jubilation in the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the governorship election tribunal in the state dismissed the case of former Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, against Governor Oborevwori. However, the APC explained that it s only an application to call additional witnesses that was refused by the tribunal in Wednesday proceedings. The State Publicity Secretary of the Delta State APC, Valentine Onojeghuo, made these remarks in Asaba, the state capital. He rubbished the purported dismissal and celebration by members of the State PDP, saying it was delusional. Onojeghuo said the celebration only goes to confirm that the Delta State PDP is ob...

LEGAL OPTIONS AVAILABLE TO CHIEF JAMES IBORI ON THE CONFISCATION OF HIS PROPERTY BY CROWN COURT IN LONDON BY HON. DR. ‘TONYE TIMI

One read with utter trepidation and displeasure the order made by British Judge David Tomlison of the London Southwark Crown Court  in the case between the British Government and former governor of Delta State, Nigeria, Chief James Ibori.  The ruling by Judge Tomlinson, ordering the forfeiture and sale of Chief Ibori’s property which value as stated by the court is put at £101.5 million ($130m) is to be disposed of as proceeds of corruption. We know that this is a continuation of a case that has lingered since 2011 and for which Chief Ibori was previously sentenced to a thirteen (13) year term in British jail, which he has duly served. Chief Ibori has served his punishment and so enough should be enough in the hounding and torture of the man by British Courts and by extension, the British government. It appears now that the British court system is persecuting and badgering a man rendered hostage by the failure of its investigative institutions and punished more for hate...

THE DELTA ELECTION TRIBUNAL JUDGMENT WILL REVEAL THE TRUTH

The Delta State Election Petition Tribunal continued its sitting yesterday, the day’s proceedings started with an application from Ovie Omo-Agege and APC lead counsel Fagbemi SAN, there was objection and arguments from PDP lawyer before the Tribunal stood down proceedings for about two hours before reconvening, the Tribunal deferred to 26th July to deliver on the application. However, Ovie Omo-Agege and the APC called its 1st expert witness, Barrister Efe Duku. He did so well in his defence that even PDP lawyers saluted him for a job well done. Duku’s testimony lent credence to the obvious fact that the People’s Democratic Party and the PDP governorship candidate bypassed the use of BVAS in the accreditation process. They were simply credited with outlandish fictitious figures that did not correspond to the number of accredited voters.  Barrister Duku’s attestation definitely exposed clearly the fact that the governorship election results were manipulated and contrive...

ATIKU ABUBAKAR’S BID TO BLACKMAIL THE JUDICIARY WILL FAIL

We have read the laughable and jejune statement by former Vice President and People’s Democratic Party Presidential Candidate in the last election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. It is obvious that having been thoroughly defeated by the All Progressives Congress and now President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former Vice President has not fully recovered from the shock of defeat, hence the current attempt to mischievously rake up another round of inanities that offend basic logic and rational thinking. In an ill-thought-out and illogical statement, Alhaji Atiku and his minders accused the current administration of the governing APC of plotting to undermine the judiciary without providing any shred of evidence. Apart from innuendos, insinuations and outright lies contained in the said press statement, the former Vice President Atiku didn’t put forward any convincing ill-thought-out argument to support his claims on how the President Tinubu-led administration and APC sought to undercut, undermine a...

NIGERIAN JUDICIARY: My Lord, Tell Me Where To Keep Your Bribe - By Niyi Osundare

Do I drop it in your venerable  chambers Or carry the heavy booty to your  immaculate  mansion Shall I bury it in the capacious water tank In your well laundered backyard Or will it breathe better in the septic tank Since money can deodorize the smelliest crime Shall I haul it up the attic Between the ceiling and your lofty roof Or shall I conjure the walls to open up And swallow this sudden bounty from your honest labour Shall I give a billion to each of your paramours The black, the light, the Fanta-yellow They will surely know  how to keep  the loot In places too remote for the sniffing dog Or shall I use the particulars Of your anonymous maidservants and manservants With their names on overflowing bank accounts While they famish like ownerless dogs Shall I haul it all to your village In the valley behind seven mountains Where potholes swallow up the hugest  jeep And Penury leaves a scar on every house My Lor...
