PARIS LOAN REFUND: FG LIED AGAINST DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT

It is important to make it clear that the Federal Government has not disbursed N27billion to Delta State as Paris Fund Club Loan Refund. The level of lies, deceit and negative propaganda by the Federal Government has reached an embarrassing level with this fake information.
The Federal Government should publish the account where it paid N27billion in respect of the Paris Club Loan Refund due to Delta State.
The Federal Government released N14billion as Paris Club Loan Refund to Delta State. It should be noted that the Federal Government deliberately short-changed Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Delta States by ignoring the original approved payment plan.
Since last week the federal government has been bandying figures on the pages of newspapers and online that Delta State received the refund of the Paris Club to the tune of N27billion.  It must be categorically stated that, that is not correct.
The President approved that every State and local government should receive 50 percent. They came to say that they cannot pay 50 percent, but they can pay 25per cent. Now, the 25per cent of the 50 per cent, they paid Delta State Government and local government areas, is N14billion.  In doing so, they short paid Delta State, they short paid Akwa Ibom and they short paid Rivers States, which are PDP States.
These are the only three States that were short-changed. They paid all other States completely.  The three States raised alarm, and the federal government accepted that the three States still have N3billion each outstanding.
If they say that Delta State is entitled to N27billion, that would be okay. Being entitled and paying the money are two different things.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...
