A scion of the Justice James Omo-Agege family and former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Obarisi (Barr) Ovie Omo-Agege over the weekend commenced consultations at seeking nomination towards his aspiration to become the next Governor of the State in 2015.
Barrister Omo-Agege who is the current National Chairman of the Urhobo Political Congress - UPC, met with the National Executive and the Elders Council of the UPC in Warri to inform them of his aspiration. He pledged to pilot the affairs of the State with a pan Delta mindset if given the mandate.
He emphasized his resolve to participate in the Governorship nomination process and maintained that he was offering himself for the service of all Deltans. He promised to use his wealth of experience in government to further the development of the State by building on the foundation laid by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan's administration. He assured that he would build bridges of friendship across all the Senatorial districts in the State. He pledged to run an all-inclusive government to create opportunities for every Deltan if given the chance to serve the people of the State.
He explained that aspirants from the other Senatorial districts in the State contested in the past gubernatorial nominations that produced Chief James Ibori and Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan in 1999 and 2007 respectively, and maintained that the duo did not emerge on the basis of zoning.
He drove home the point that he has the wherewithal to prosecute his gubernatorial aspiration. The former Secretary to the State Government expressed optimism that he will emerge victorious at the polls.
