The Independent Newspaper’s Peace Ambassador of the Niger Delta 2019 has been bestowed on the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro Esq.

The Independent newspaper must have observed that in and out of government, Deacon Otuaro has played critically important roles in bringing and sustaining peace in the oil rich Niger Delta.
During the crisis that led to the bombing of oil facilities, Deacon Otuaro as Chairman of Peace Advocacy Committee Against Oil Facility Vandalism in Delta State played prominent role in bringing the crisis to an end. Governor Okowa, who was on leave during the period under review commended Otuaro who was acting governor, for the salient role he played, which was geared towards ensuring sustainable peace for oil production in host communities.
Deacon Kingsley Otuaro is a man who has evidently touched the lives of people at the grassroots. His charisma is beyond comparison, a youthful leader who has positively impacted others in so many ways.

He is a legal luminary, community leader, and philanthropist, who ventured into politics and has combined his skills and the grace of God to dutifully and diligently serve humanity. He is a man with vast knowledge and experience in human and community development.

Otuaro is a unifying factor, a bridge builder, a politician with character, conscience and charisma. He serves as an example of integrity and loyalty.  A man with good communication and interpersonal skills, who can work with all classes of people.

By the grace of God, he has positively affected lives by virtue of the various public offices he has held. He has given hope to the youths and confidence to the leaders and elders that youthful governance is possible and very dependable. This was made possible through building of robust relationship with people across the State.

Deacon Otuaro’s perception of politics is akin to that of his boss, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, which is centred on building prosperity around the people as a way of catering for their wellbeing.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...
