GOVERNOR OKOWA PUBLICLY ANNOUNCES FESTUS OVIE AGAS AS SECRETARY TO THE DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT

In a dramatic and interesting twist, God’s favour and humility, Festus Ovie Agas finally emerges as Secretary to the Delta State Government. The announcement was made today by the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa at the reception that followed his thanksgiving. Sure God win, but the role of humility of Festus Agas in his choice cannot be discounted. Festus Ovie Agas is the epitome of humility. Humility is the true key to success. Successful people lose their way at times. They often embrace and overindulge from the fruits of success. Humility halts this arrogance and self-indulging trap. Humble people share the credit and wealth, remaining focused and hungry to continue the journey of success. Earlier at the Church service, Governor Okowa noted that Deltans have every reason to thank God. “We as Deltans are a chosen generation”. He stressed that though the road is rough, but by God’s grace his government will succeed. The Governor called on Deltan to continu...

NIGERIAN ECONOMY: PROSPECTS FOR CONTINUED GROWTH

Of course, the country faces challenges, most of which are related to the recent drop in the price of oil on the global market, and the unitary elements of the Nigerian State that continues to be overly dependent on a single commodity, oil.  Those unitary elements of the federal State, together with the over-dependence of all levels of government on oil revenues, make it difficult to rationalize public budgets, by way of aligning economic activity and the taxes it creates in the political jurisdictions, to public spending in those jurisdictions. Those systemic problems cannot be corrected by a presidential order. They have to be addressed by the national legislature, pushed along by the people, in the government by the people, for the people, of the people. Overall, however, by all objective measures, the Jonathan team has been hugely successful. All of the talk about failure is nothing but the effect, of seeing a thunderstorm and declaring that God has destroyed the wor...

GOVERNOR IFEANYI OKOWA'S INAUGURAL SPEECH – FULL TEXT

Fellow Deltans, I am grateful to God, and consider it an honour, to stand before you today as your Governor. Indeed, I am humbled by the trust you have reposed in me, greatly inspired by our collective resolve to have chosen hope over suspicion and fear, and unity of purpose over conflict and discord. In the governorship election of April 11, Deltans reminded Nigerians once more that while tribe and tongue may differ, our strength lies in our diversity, that our wealth lies in the bonds that hold us together as a people, and that we can rise together as a family. Indeed, our cultural diversity presents unique opportunities for better understanding, greater collaboration, and more efficient resource mobilisation. 2.I stand here today more convinced than ever before about the greatness of our state. Ours is a state blessed with abundant resources, as well as high quality human capital. Deltans have continued to excel and play leading roles in our national life, be it politics, econom...

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS DEMOCRACY DAY IN NIGERIA - Ovie Ughwanogho

Congratulation to our out going president Goodluck Jonathan. A man of peace and the true father of democracy in Nigeria. You disappointed those who wanted blood bath in nigeria. While you were planning to uplift Nigeria, they were planning to humiliate you but God saw to it that you emerged a hero. Thank you for your wonderful service to Nigeria. You are simply the best. To the incoming president, Muhammadu Buhari, we are watching.  If you do well we shall applaud and support you. If you decide to chase your enemies around and execute a selective "fight against corruption" or you decide to turn nigeria into a more unitary republic or you decide to reverse our progress toward a free market economy or you decide to perpetuate your self or a section in power, we shall be here to put your two feet on fire. As for the Independent Electoral Commission(INEC), I say you are fraudulent and incompetent. You disenfranchise 13 million Nigerians by not giving them their permanent ...

DEMOCRATIC TRANSITION: SENATOR IFEANYI OKOWA ENTERS AS DR. UDUAGHAN EXITS

God give us men. The time demands Strong minds, great hearts, true faith, and willing hands. Men whom the lust of office does not kill; Men whom the spoils of office cannot buy; Men who possess opinions and a will; Men who have honour; men who will not lie; Men who can stand before a demagogue and damn his treacherous flatteries without winking; Tall men, sun-browned, who live above the fog in public duty and in private thinking – Josiah Gilbert Holland Many leaders did emerge to govern Delta State but his emergence was divine. In every seventh generation of any race, there is always a leader sent to them with messianic mission. His enthronement as the Governor of Delta State, is more than a messianic mission, for he has come to salvage our State from ruins and reclaim its battered image. His journey to Government House is not self-serving but to render service and save our people from carcasses of penury. Grapes are sweet to those that cherish it but are bitter in...

WHERE IS THE CHANGE WE VOTED FOR?

Whilst the nation groans under biting fuel scarcity, here is Aisha Buhari with a member of the petrol subsidy cabal, Wale Tinubu of Oando in a Helicopter ride. And below is the same Wale Tinubu and Femi Otedola of Forte Oil hobnobbing with Mohammed Buhari. Change is indeed in the air. Big changes are definitely going to happen and it is happening for a single normal person to fully understand all of it by themselves, so now  worries , eh? Thank God Nigerians had sense enough to vote for CHANGE and not to put another PDP dunce in Aso Rock who doesn't know anything about economics, but is this the CHANGE we voted for? I hope this country will not be screwed, so that we have those who voted for Buhari and friends to thank for it.

FRED LATIMORE OGHENESIVBE AND APC DELTA STATE: DESPERATE OFFICE SEEKERS

Rather than struggle to be part of the political hustle ongoing at the national level of APC, Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe busy either raising false alarm or promoting falsehood in Delta State. His malicious publications only indicate that they are desperate politicians, without firm roots either within the State or at the national level. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe has taken falsehood to a very ridiculous extent by boasting and falsely claiming that that they were “supposed” to have won the last gubernatorial election in the State but were rigged out. The aim is to deliberately create disaffection in the polity and on the minds of the people, including the tribunal. The timing of these falsehoods is suspect as certain elements are trying to use the tools of blackmail to gain political power and relevance. The good people of Delta State have confirmed that Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the Governor-elect is a man with excellent virtues, highly disciplined and focused. He will not...

GOVERNORS PLAN TO AVOID HANDOVER PARADE

It is  almost certain that some outgoing governors will not attend the May 29 official handover parade in their respective states. The governors, it was learnt, will be boycotting the significant event for different reasons.   Some of the states where the incoming governors may not have the honour of receiving the baton from their predecessors include Benue, Plateau, Kaduna and Rivers.   Governor Gabriel Suswam of the PDP will not be physically present to formally hand over to his successor, Samuel Ortom of the APC. “The governor has hinted that it will be unsafe for him to be at the ceremony because of security report which shows that civil servants who are being owed for several months and angry youths will storm the parade ground to protest and boo him”, a source close to the incoming governor stated.   It was also gathered that the event, which will be at¬tended by the state deputy governor, Chief Steven Lawani, will be low key and more or less informal. “...

Moment Artist Exposes Her Vagina At Public Museum To Reenact Famous Painting (PHOTOS, VIDEO) By Huffington Post

0 Parental Advisory Poster Gustav Courbet’s 19th century erotic oil painting The Origin of the World features the genitals of an  (until recently)  faceless nude and is roundly considered a masterpiece. Though at the time of painting it was considered too risqué to exhibit and could even have seen the artist sent to prison on charges of “affronting pubic and religious morals”, it now hangs in  Paris’s Musée d’Orsay . Last month artist Deborah de Robertis decided to incorporate Courbet’s work into her own performance piece – which saw her take a seat in front of the priceless painting and expose her own genitals to museum goers. Deborah de Robertis exhibited her own version of The Origin of the World last month In this NSFW video, Robertis is seen entering the strolling into the gallery barefoot and dressed elegantly in a sparkling gold dress. She settles below the painting – believed to be of Courbet’s then lover Irish model Joanna Hiff...
