Most people
were expecting that change in the new Buhari administration meant introducing
new blood and new ways of running the country. But from all indication
the people shouting 'change' had their own different ideas of change they were
projecting on Buhari. None bothered to find out what Buhari himself meant by
change. Not even his party knows exactly what the CHANGE plans are.
But as it appears, it is
more of the old stuff as pouring old wine in new wine bottles. The recycling of
ex-governors as senators and minister in Nigeria, is one reason why every
attempt to address corruption in Nigeria will fail.
There is no problem
with recycling 'old' politicians with proven track records judged by stellar
performances in their previous positions and those whose integrity have not been tainted as
a result convictions or pending charges of corrupt or immoral practices brought
against them by the EFCC, NPF or any other lawful agencies in Nigeria or
abroad.
Well, it is the way of party politics. Those who contribute get the spoils.
