SENATOR IFEANYI OKOWA: A SEED OF COMPETENCE

A fulfilled leadership is rooted in one who rewards his followers and allows them to come into their own.

The next governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa in all places of his primary assignments through his productivity earned the respect of his superiors.  His work experience reveals that he is an excellent developer. His loyalty, humility and honesty are unequaled and this makes every man that comes in contact with him to accept him without any sense of doubt about his personality and capability. That means having an honest man like Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as a leader in Delta State means progression.

Leaders are always encouraged to exhibit confidence, competence and omniscience but Senator Ifeanyi Okowa is not such a leader as he already has these virtues as part of his being, and what is in you is not borrowed,   the cognate experience and competence of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa in the political world will make Delta State an investors hub being a trusted hand within the public sector.

Senator Okowa, given his background in public sector will deliver on his promises and steer the people away from cradle to grave dependency on government, and see to the unfurling of their entrepreneurial spirits.

At every trajectory of a nation's development, the system will thrust forward leaders who are inspired, purpose-driven and imbued with the uncanny ability and capacity to recognize opportunities and talents and deploy such to the service of the people.

The United Kingdom had Winston Churchill whose singleminded determination to see the survival of British Isles from the evil and racially rapacious onslaught of Adolf Hitler kept the union from being overrun by the Nazis. Franklin Delano Roosevelt in America having starred down pessimism and the Great Wall Street collapse of 1929 and the consequent Great Depression, helped save the twin defining elements of the American State: Democracy and Capitalism, thus staving off the death of an ideology that has helped unfurl the latent skills and talents that God embedded in us all: the ability to dream, and dare.

At the death of FDR in 1945, the American people wanted a continuation of the domestic policy that had defeated the ravenous fangs of hunger and economic depression in the United States; they didn’t wish to go back to the failed policies of the Hoover administration that had caused the collapse of the Wall Street in 1929, they voted the Democratic Party back to the White House.

In Delta State, we have never looked towards it in this manner; Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has all the skills needed to sustain and deepen the development of Delta State. Every well-meaning Deltan should be invested in the task of ensuring that this deep and profound politician becomes our governor come next year. Creating unnecessary confusion, manufacturing lies and naked attempts to poison the waters of our unity and cohesion by a resort to innuendos and ethnic-tinged divisive campaign should be rejected by the good people of Delta State. We should look for onward movement and not backward retreat

Plato once said “In politics we presume that everyone who knows how to get votes knows how to administer a city or a State. When we are ill... we do not ask for the handsomest physician, or the most eloquent one.”  In Delta State today, we can proudly say that we have gotten the 'handsomest and the most eloquent' leader in Senator Okowa to take over the reins of leadership. What a blessed people we are!

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...

This reaction was so profound that even Senator George Akume and Governor Obaseki could not hide their astonishment.
