DECAMPMENT TO APC AN THE AUDACITY OF DELUSION

Obama Tasks Nigerians On Peaceful Elections, Keeping Nigeria One
The more anyone engages in political prostitution, the more irrelevant he makes himself in any political landscape. It is good to learn to stick to one party and struggle within to right whatever wrongs that are perceived in such a party. If not, you will soon be seen as one with neither philosophy nor principle. It is hoped that the news about some former political office holders and contractors wanting to decamp to APC is a rumour!
It is however, most unfortunate that Nigerian masses are so emotionally brilliant that they will rather get angry when their preachers are discussed but will never get angry when they are humiliated and robbed by their politicians. The average religious Nigerian will rather be concerned about who and what is said about their pastor than be concerned about the man who stole from the State or country’s treasury.
From the way the average politician behaves, it is clear that the political leaders and the aspiring ones are not bothered about the end of corruption. Rather than look at the individuals that are corrupt, politicians deceive the people by defining corruption as if it is a group thing. APC and PDP are mere vessels populated by individual people, among whom are the corrupt and the semi/non-corrupt. Today, even those who have corruptly enriched themselves in the immediate past as either contractors or office holders become saints once they move to APC. This not the way to go in any sane polity. Leaving PDP for APC or APC for PDP does not change the genetic make-up of the corrupt.
Our people must be careful of not falling victims to this simplistic fpigeonholing. We must look at the antecedent of those who come before us for votes. We must look at them as individuals.
Before now, it was very popular to tout the achievements of the 'poster boy' of APC, Babatunde Raji Fashola as proof that the APC was different and will offer a better platform for the people. That argument won over people in droves. But no more!

Independent Political Party Logo The peoples democratic party's
Instead of harnessing its much-vaunted strength, the APC is showing new weaknesses. The APC has become an amalgamation of strange bedfellows with conflicting political agendas - all desperate for power at the centre. This explains why it even welcomes former PDP opponents. This marriage of convenience is likely to collapse sooner than later on the very altar of its internal contradictions.
Unfortunately, a strong government cannot come from the foolishness of the APC. As presently constituted, the APC is a very good guarantee of another four years of the PDP if not worse.
What do we find today?
Men and women who have been Governors, Ministers, Senators, Representatives, State legislators, Commissioners and other top political appointees involved in politics of stomach infrastructure. This has created a class of supposedly affluent persons without character. The playbook of political parties in Nigeria is therefore filled with men and women who have no principles, no morals, no vision, and no convictions; they stand for nothing other than their stomachs and egos. That is why these despicable and shameless men and women jump back and forth from one ship deck to the other, even without a ship wreck.
A horde of liars who are a dangerous crowd. Those who comprise it think little, talk volubly, lacking in logic and sense; always placing the truth on the scaffold rather than enthroning it on their conscience. They act questionably just to serve the exigencies of piper payers. A modern society where those who should know deliberately prefer lucre to liberty is not only dreary but doomed as the beautiful and brightest are mortgaged without hope of redemption
But we should at all times remember that Almighty God is a living man. You can fool some people sometimes, but you can't fool all the people all the time.
